Imagine, it’s the middle of the winter, you’ve just experienced a very bad ice storm and your power has gone out. You turn on your battery radio and discover that the power outage and ice storm damage in your area is significant and to expect power your power to be out for at least a week. You get out the blankets, the flashlights, check the food supply in the cabinet. Whew, you just need a hot cup of coffee to relax.

Okay, that may be just a little overly dramatic for a Coke Can stove but what if you do run into some type of emergency blackout situation or are simply on a camping trip and just want to travel light? Here’s how you can quickly make a small stove out of an empty soda or beer can … and have your hot cup of coffee afterall.

The supplies you are going to need are:

  • 2 aluminum cans of any soft drink
  • 1 marker, a pair of scissors or cutter
  • 1 small sandpaper, 1 nail, alcohol and cotton.

Here's how to make your Coke can stove:

  • Cut 2 coke tin can into 2 bottom parts
  • Make holes in 1 of them

  • Nest the two halves together (stuff with cotton if desired), top into the bottom
  • Fill the concave cavity with fuel
